Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) management sometime created a unit called Anti-Corruption and Transparency Monitoring Unit and recently the unit has shown that they are doing a great job by fishing out about 500 students of the university that has been suspended now due to their involvement in offences against the rules and regulations of the school.
According to FUTO ACTU Chairman, Professor N. Okeudo, the school has shown zero tolerance for corrupt practices by suspending the students, banning of sale of handouts and punishing lecturers indicted for intimate harassment of students.
My people don’t tell anybody that I said, because this news kept me wondering, I heard 500 students being suspended but no news on lecturers being suspend all I can see here is being punished
Though according to the chairman, “ACTU had been involved in provision of a Complaint Box for the school community and publication of anti-corruption articles to sensitize school community against corruption.
We have shown zero tolerance for corruption by working closely with the school management to achieve it. Our actions had led to the rustication of over 500 students for various offences.
We are working against illegal sales of text books and handouts. We are investigating cases of plagiarism and bribery among staff which has led to a female staff absconding.
So what do you all think about this complaint boxes? Cool right? Me I call it GOSSIP BOX
