Nigeria! Nigeria! Why is it that we like last minute which most of us call African Time, information which got to me today has brought relieve to the general public as it was announced that BVN (Bank Verification Number) Deadline Date has been postponed from the initial date 30th June 2015 to 31st October 2015
This information was made possible through the Communications Adviser to the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria Mr Ugo A. Okoroafor.
I know this brought relief to most of us because we noticed that they have been high level of frustration due to too much crowd people now sees in banks leading to slow banking operations but
NOTE: I hope this won’t make most of us sit back and relax waiting for another AFRICAN TIME because I don’t think this time around there would be any grace to spare. I urge you all to hurry and do it to avoid story that touches the heart
Most people are complaining that the timing is short but the last time checked BVN is an initiative of the CBN and the Bankers’ Committee, launched on February 14, 2014. It is a unique identifier for each bank customer across the financial industry, making it possible to build and track customer financial history and activity.
Entered the bank today and it felt like I came to a big market square and I was wondering what was all this multitude doing since this exercise kicked off and even when it was a month to go and they kept on waiting till it was a day to go, I just hope they don’t go late to their own wedding
Check out some pictures of a little part of the crowded banks
