Angry part time students of Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti embarked on a protest over the increment in the institution’s school fees
HOW HIGH IS THE Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti FEES INCREMENT?
Formal fees was N9, 000 (Nine thousand naira only) and has been increased to N34, 000 (Thirty four thousand naira only)
WHAT PROVOKED Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti PART TIME STUDENTS?
When questions were answered by the students they went ahead to say that the Rector, Mrs. Theresa Taiwo Akande, did not fulfill the promise she made during her meeting with the Students Representatives that the school fees will be increased only at four years interval.
DEPUTY REGISTRAR’S REPLY
Commenting, the Deputy Registrar (Information), Ade Adeyemi-Adejolu, confirmed the temporal closure of the school.
“They are not our regular students but part time students just resuming. They are not supposed to be part of any union. There is peace in the school already but it has been shut down. The management is talking with them.” He said.
