Dana Airlines may soon resume normal operations, as the audit of its operations by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, in the wake of last year’s crash has been concluded.
NCAA said on Sunday in a statement by its spokes person, Fan Ndubuoke, that the Director-General of the agency, Fola Akinkuotu, has described the audit concluded on Friday, December 13, 2013 as good and healthy.
The audit, which involved the NCAA Flight Standard Group in conjunction with their foreign partners, was also said to have been painstaking, professional and transparent.
Mr. Akinkuotu said the NCAA would soon meet with Dana Air officials to review and come to agreement their action plan for closing “open items”, while consultations would also be made to determine a possible date for the resumption of flight operations by the airline.
Mr. Akinkuotu said that henceforth the audit would be an annual exercise for all airlines, including Dana Air, pointing out that the essence of the audit was to ensure safety in the sky and also to avoid hitches in flight operations.
NCAA ordered the suspension of Dana Airline’s operations in October to enable it carry out a comprehensive audit of the airline.
